In reply to your letter of the 20th July,
Directed by the Earl of Kimberley, to state that he regrets that he cannot accede to your application for an advance of twelve months' account of your salary.
In reply to Kidd's application as Colonial Chaplain of Hongkong.
His Lordship is however prepared to authorize the Crown Agents to make you an advance of six weeks' half salary, and six weeks' full salary, or a sum of £150.
